The Smörgåsbord

from $320.00

LEAD TIMES APPLY TO THIS PRODUCT!

October 2023 - Smorgy has been updated! The shoulder strap is OUT! Hypalon reinforcements are IN! Pocket and buckle options are IN!!

Swedish in name only, there’s nothing minimalist about the size of The Smörgåsbord (herein referred to as Smorgy)!

Y'all have been asking for it for years and finally I’m delivering!

The Short of it:

  • Long flap style handlebar / saddle bag!

  • 13-25L total capacity!

  • Fits wide drop bars, riser bars and saddle bag loops!

  • 1mm HDPE stiffener!

  • Your choice of Aluminium hook style buckles or plastic side release buckles!

  • Hypalon panels on the rear to give you a million attachment options and protect from abrasion!

  • Includes 2x 9” Voile Nano Straps, 3 foam spacer blocks, and a no-bouncy head tube stabiliser strap (same as the Big Lunch!).

The Long(flap) of it:

The Smorgy’s a large capacity, long flap style handlebar / saddle bag! This northern giant is designed to haul it all and then a lil bit more. The massive roll top main is expandable from 13L — 23L making it perfect for fitting all that bulky camping gear, or a change of clothes for your cute lil office job that you’ve gotta smell good for.

Pockets? We got em! You’ve got your choice of the big ones, the stretchy ones, or none at all! The biggies are about 1.5 litres each so if you’re taking it camping and want to maximise your capacity then they’re the pockets for you. Keep in mind that in this config you’ll need at least 50cm between the hoods on drop bars!

Stretchy pockets are made with UltraStretch (which is pretty stretchy). They bring the total width down to 38cm so you can snuggle in between 42cm+ drops. The none at all pockets are no pockets on the side. Does what it says on the box. Still 38cm wide!

Dimensions? We got em too! With the big pockets you’re lookin’ at 48cm wide, and 38cm with the stretchy or no pockets. Smorgy is 22cm high (when totally rolled down) and 17.5cm front to back. Smorgy weighs about 700g in EcoPak and a bit more in the heavier fabrics.

You’re gonna want at least 25cm vertically between your mounting point and the top of your tyre! Sorry small bike gang, you might have to go to rack city for this one.

Weight wise - less is always best duh but you can run a coupla kilo’s in there. If things are getting super rowdy and bouncy you might want to consider sitting it on top of a rack and strapping it down. The stitches are toight but a case of beer and a rock garden could lead to issues!

Smorgy uses a 1mm HDPE insert for structure! Just look at that curve, it’s perfect huh?! Thank you!

Running the Smorgy on your saddle?! You’ll need a dowel to make it play nice! You can head down to bunnings and grab a lifetime supply for peanuts, or I can include one for $10. You don’t really need the dowel if you’re running it on the bars and can attach it at it’s widest points.

How do I choose a fabric?!

You just take a look at the FABRICS PAGE and then you put your favourite one in the form where it asks you for it! Simples!
