HOT CHOOK

Boy oh boy has this taken me a while to get to! Oh well better late than never I always say!!

Introducing the HOT CHOOK!

I was umming and aahing about the name for a minute. I’m still pretty into calling it the Bachelors Handbag, but HOT CHOOK really rolls off the tongue better so let’s run with it I reckon. If you don’t know what a Bachelor’s Handbag is, it’s a colloquial term for a rotisserie chicken you get from the shops that comes in those sweaty lil plastic bags! They are delicious and so is this bag!

But what IS the HOT CHOOK, HUNGRY?! Please tell us!

All in good time!! Don’t be so pushy. Okay now it’s time. The Chook is a little handlebar bag!! It can also be a saddle bag if you’ve got loops on your saddle. It has a good amount of space (we’re talking about SIX to SEVEN litres-ish?!) for an extended day ride, a commute, or as a supplementary (nice word) bag as part of a touring setup.

It has a fitted lid to keep the rain out, and while it’s highly water resistant I cannot claim fully waterproof cos I don’t seam seal things! It does have a floating liner as well, so it’s very VERY water resistant but alas I cannot claim full waterproofivity (made that one up hehe).

There’s also a cute little bit of elastic on top that you could strap a jacket under there, or maybe a packet of chippies (you’d maybe needa pop it first tho those things have so much air in there).

HUNGRY, how does it attach to my handlebars?!

A great question!! There are two little strappy straps included! They are just like the ones from the brand that starts with V but they are not that brand. There’s also a lil bungie guy that you can wrap around the headtube to stop that thang bouncing around! There are foam spacer blocks included for each of these attachment points too, so you can make room for cables and all that other nonsense.

Hey I have drop bars, will this work with them?!

Depends how wide they are! The Chook is about 37cm wide so you’ll probably want at least 42cm between ya levers. The pictures I’ve taken are on 50cm Curve Walmers (great bars!) and it’s clearly got plenty of space!

Does that cover everything?!

Yeah I think so! I bet I’ve forgotten something tho… Sorry the photos are a bit dark it was raining and once I’ve decided to do something I am NOT waiting around for the sun to come out.

You can enter the colour you’d like in the form below and if you’ve got any wild colour combo requests, or just questions I suppose (?) then get in touch and we can chit chat!

CHOOK OUT!
